Dr. Daniel Hakimi serves as the Medical Director and Lead Physician of OBGYNTEAM | OB-GYN & Infertility Services of Northern New Jersey. With more than two decades of experience in obstetrics, gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, and women’s healthcare, Dr. Hakimi is recognized throughout New Jersey and the greater New York metropolitan area for providing personalized, evidence-based care for women at every stage of life.

Dr. Hakimi earned his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998 and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital in 2002. Throughout his career, he has remained dedicated to advancing women’s healthcare through innovation, surgical excellence, and a patient-centered approach to care.

As a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Hakimi is committed to maintaining the highest standards of women’s healthcare. His passion for surgery developed during residency and led him to pursue advanced training in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted gynecologic procedures.

Since 2013, Dr. Hakimi has specialized in robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. His expertise includes minimally invasive hysterectomy, fibroid treatment, endometriosis surgery, ovarian cyst management, abnormal uterine bleeding, and select early-stage gynecologic cancer procedures. His surgical philosophy emphasizes precision, faster recovery, reduced postoperative discomfort, and optimal patient outcomes.

In obstetrics, Dr. Hakimi has cared for thousands of women throughout pregnancy, from routine prenatal care to complex and high-risk pregnancies. He is known for his individualized approach, commitment to maternal health, and low cesarean section rate. Many women who have previously undergone cesarean delivery have successfully achieved vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) under his care.
